artist research - Tinhead

These are artworks by artist Tinhead. He is most known for his album artworks for popular band 'Foals'. I love his hand made approach. I think that this work here is quite similar to mine. He has used hand rendered and digital methods. I think like me he has layered images over images and changed the blending modes to create the glitchy, interestingly visual effects.

artist research - Lilianna Pereira

These are collages by Lillianna Pereira. I find her work really inspiring. I think that my style of work is similar to hers, but nowhere near as good. I love her hand rendered techniques. She cuts up images form magazines and books and re-aranges the images together to create a great collage. I love how she fits her images togethr and how they work really well.

These are the images of animals that I have used in my collages.

The theme that I have used throughout this whole project is nude imagery. I have only used images f my 3 best friends; Jules, Harriet and Rosie. They are all nude in a forest surrounded by trees and nature. I wnted to use images that go together. I wanted to use nude images because I like the look of bodies and I thought that they would create interesting collages. i also wanted to work with nude imagery because this is a digital project and I wanted to somehow link to nature to juxpotise this project and link it to natural forms. I have also used images of trees, forests, animals and the sky. All of these things connect with nature. I have used some simple drawings in my collages for a hand rendered element because I much prefer hand made elements to digital ones.

This last collage here is the original version. The rest have textures layered over them to create the visual effects.

I quite liked the idea and look of these collages so I did many experiments, changing the colours, sizes,amounts and working with my images, shapes and hand drawn patterns. I created the effects and crazy colours by layering many images over each other and changing the blending modes.
